I’m a sucker for a good cause, and there’s a lot of great causes out there that don’t get the media attention they deserve. Here’s a selection of the main charities I support, in no particular order…

Please Note: I am not affiliated with, nor am I a representative of, these charities. I’m just an excitable supporter. please bear that in mind.

Alzheimer’s Society

Site: alzheimers.org.uk
There can be few concepts as frightening than loosing one’s sense of self, surrounded by strangers and unable to remember how to complete the most basic of tasks. This, sadly, is the reality faced by nearly three quarters of a million people in the UK. It’s called dementia, and 1 in 3 older people will end their lives suffering from some form of it.

The Alzheimers Society are proving much-needed funding for research into dementia, which receives an eighth of the government funding given to cancer research. Equally importantly, they provide a lifeline for sufferers, carers and families struggling to come to terms with the unthinkable.

How you can help: Of course donations will always be welcome, but you can also donate your time as a volunteer, a fundraiser or a campaigner to help spread the word.

Liberty

As a citizen there are few things more important than your human rights and civil liberties, two things which are increasingly under threat following the so-called “war on terror”. When you’re facing your own government, it’s easy to feel that you’re alone. Thankfully, Liberty is there to help victims of injustice and campaign for the protection, and restoration of civil liberties at home and abroad.

How you can help: Visit Liberty’s website to discover how your rights and freedoms are being impinged by new anti-terror laws, spread the word and get campaigning! Donations are good too…

World Land Trust

There are many environmental charities out there, but few are doing as much, in real terms, to secure the future of threatened habitats and the species that live within them than the WLT.

They work with regional partners to buy land to create and expand permanent wildlife preserves, preventing the habitat destruction of some of the most endangered species in the world.

How you can help: You know those friends and family members who have everything, and you never know what to get them? Buy an acre of rainforest, it’s a great gift…it really is. You can also donate online to their Indian Wildlife corridor appeal, where your donation will be matched for double the benefit!

If you’re looking for bespoke SEO services, you can help support the WLT by getting your SEO, PPC and online PR from Mojo Media, we donate £50 for every new client that joins us and a further £25 for every month you stay.
