Hello! I’m Katy Bairstow, a thirty-something geek girl from the heart of England, in fact I’m so English that (to paraphrase James May) I could be descended from a cricket bat and a slice of fruitcake.

I love cricket (test match, naturally) and I love fruitcake. I also love a nice cup of tea at four o’clock, preferably in conjunction with test match cricket and a slice of fruitcake.

I’m very partial to watching Doctor Who, Top Gear, Mythbusters, David Suchet as Poirot and anything by David Attenborough. When it comes to reading, I love children’s classics such as Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan as well as books by Terry Pratchett, Patrick O’Brian and Michael Palin. My music taste is ecletic including Blondie, the Rolling Stones, Joni Mitchell, Mahler, Beethoven, Pixelh8 and Weird Al Yankovic.

I live in West London with my spousal analogue and our cat; and it is from here that I work as a freelance wordpress developer and technical Jack-of-all-trades for Pixel Punk.
